My cardiology clinic, as well as one doctor in particular who works with us, had our ratings downgraded on RateMDs. One of his new patients came to him with a rare, pre-existing heart condition. The doctor did his best to administer treatment, but as is the case sometimes in the medical field, there was nothing that could be done. Unfortunately, a member of that patient’s family did not accept that the situation was unavoidable, and left what could only be described as an online rant blaming the doctor and leaving him a one-star rating, including my clinic’s name several times in the process. Because of the popularity of RateMDs among the public, I knew this might cause some trust issues, groundless though they may be. After exploring the major online reputation management companies, I settled on Reputation.ca in large part because of their record for helping other medical clinics. Only a short amount of time after they set to work, the rating of both the doctor and my clinic were back to where they were before—which is to say much higher than average.
